We're very pleased to report that the National Immigration Policy Summit was a huge success!
Rather than reinvent the wheel, we'll direct you to the excellent work of others who covered the Summit. Blogger and photographer Kim Mattina put together a very nice write-up, with some gorgeous photos. Big Dave posted a very nice slideshow of the Saturday Night rally. FOX10 Phoenix covered the Friday Memorial Service. The Arizona Republic covered both the Candlelight Vigil and the Rally. Reuters covered the Rally., as did the Mail Tribune, the Sonoran Weekly Review, Philly.com, and many other news outlets. Moonbattery posted photos and commentary of the Summit. Tea Party Patriots Blog, ResistNet and One Old Vet also covered the Summit. Charles Benninghoff posted additional commentary HERE.
An event like this is not carried off by one person, or even a few, but only through the combined efforts of dozens of volunteers and donors and hundreds of grassroots activists spreading the word and participating. First of all, we must thank Ted Hayes for originally approaching the rest of the coalition members with his vision for the Summit. This was Ted's vision, and Ted's event, from the very beginning. We can all thank Senator Russell Pearce for hosting the event, and Eric Johnson for his excellent work heading up the organizing committee. Jennifer Patentreger did an incredible job handling the details of the Memorial Service, Candlelight Vigil, Law and Policy Seminars and Saturday Night Rally. Tim Rafferty, Rich Martin, and the whole Riders USA team deserve our gratitude for handling security for parking and vendors. Jim Cooney and his team from Riders Against Illegal Aliens did an outstanding job handling general event security. Nick D'Orazio did great work setting up the livestream, thereby allowing thousands of viewers to watch the event remotely.
The always-amazing Michelle Malkin was incredibly helpful to us in spreading the word about the Summit to patriots across the nation, and we owe Michelle our eternal thanks for her continued support of the cause of secure borders. Michelle's agreement to join us for the Summit was a welcome and unexpected surprise. Michelle has been a strong and courageous leader in this fight, and we can't overemphasize how critical Michelle's leadership has been, and will continue to be.

Wish we could have been there for the memorial service for those who lost their lives at the hand of illegals! My son in law was killed by an illegal in the this country for the last 10 yrs and with a criminal record. He conveniently dissappeared before the trial for vehicular homicide. I know of no one that is a veteran or a true American that would not be out raged by this video if they knew that these are the people ( illegal%u2019s ) that believe they deserve amnesty and yet treat are flag this way.

I am reading a book named "Down by the River" by Charles Bowden (which EVERYONE should read!)which details the activities of the "Juarez Cartel" and all the drug activities in the 'borderlands' of Mexico. I would have liked to have gone and did apply to but didn't get an invitation. I understand seating is limited and that you want people who run activist groups, not just everyday folks like me. I also delayed applying too long, waiting for more info. This is okay; I just hope they'll be a followup effort at some time open to more folks. It would've cost me a lot of money anyway but I think it's worth it. I'd like to see a national conference held about illegal immigration since much of the public still needs to be woken up about the severity of thie problem.
Can you please tell me where all of these events are going to take place? I would love to go, just need to know where before I register. Please answer asap.

On Thursday, July 29th, Arizona's new state law that removes all sanctuary policies in the state and creates a mirror state law on the crime of being in Arizona in violation of federal law, known as SB 1070, will go into effect across the State of Arizona. Arizona will remove all catch and release policies in this state and require law enforcement to enforce our immigration laws, it will take the political handcuffs off from our law enforcement and put them on those who break our laws. The next day, grassroots leaders, legislators and staffers will be coming together in Phoenix to learn more about the new law and how similar laws can be enacted in other states.
Arizona's new state law allowing police to enforce our immigration laws, popularly known as SB 1070, has drawn heavy attention from coast to coast, including international attention to the state in recent months and is not only Americas favorite bill, it is the most feared bill for those who break our laws and the open border crowd who support law breakers and ignore the damage to America and Americans. Polling shows that the voters of Arizona and the American people support the measure by large margins. In a recent scientific poll, 73% of Arizona residents support SB1070, including 56% of Democrats, 60% of Hispanics, 86% of Republicans respondents and nationally 60% to 70% expressed a desire for a similar provision in their own state and in several online polls such as MSNBC with over 1 million voting, 95% gave support to SB1070.
In order to promote public awareness of the laws of the land and states "inherent" authority to enforce immigration law, as well as debunk the many myths surround SB1070 and states inherent authority, Senator Russell Pearce and Civil Rights Activist Ted Hayes are co-hosting a National Immigration Policy Summit. Just listened to Congressman Pete Stark from the Bay Area and am shocked to learn that he has been a congressman in my state for 38 years! What were those voters thinking. He is an embarassment to the state and should be to his constituents as well. My husband and I totally support Arizona and will do our part to get the law that you are enacting brought into California! You have our full support!!
We have the same problem here in Texas and if we do not insist that we follow the rule of law then we will fail as a nation. We do need immigrants but they need to be legal or they will not appreciate how important it is to elect an honest government to ensure it is around for our children.

I just read that you are being sued for taking care of business that the government should be handling. I hope all of Arizona will fight this "tooth & nail" and let the ones in Washington know that we the American people or tired of their stupidity.
I am required to carry proper ID in every country I visit, even Mexico and Canada. So why is it OK for Mexican%u2019s or any foreigner to come to our country and NOT carry proper ID? Since there is no mention in this article about the fact that the Federal Government did file a lawsuit against Arizona and SB-1070 today, I can only assume this war written earlier. I hope that the Federal Court will not be able to hear this insanity before 7/29/10. What a colossal waste of Taxpayer money. Obama is suing Arizona for enforcing a federal law he refused to enforce. My family and I support Arizona's immigration law. I hope the rest of the states adopt the same law. Washington must be taught what is good for the United States not whats good for Obama and his cohorts.Stop supporting the illegals and look how much cash will be made available to help Americans who need it.
I believe the Arizona Law is not only constitutional but necessary and I agree with Arizona. My taxes pay for the Federal Government unwillingness and ineptitude enforcing our immigration laws. They only need to be enforced; not "reformed", just like health care.

I live in Texas and I am furious that our Federal Government has filed suit against Arizona. You have a right to protect the people of your state. I completely support Arizona's stance and wish my Governor of North Carolina had the back bone to enforce the law also. There is nothing wrong with being required to present identification. Citizens must show their identification, not just when law enforcement personnel are involved, but also in normal personal and business situations.

I think we all need to back Arizona on this issue. I live in Wisc & you wouldn't think this far from the border we would have much problem but the number of illegal immigrants in this area is quite large. In fact in one of our neighboring towns the students were required to take Spanish in high school. When they are caught committing crimes we are told its to expensive to deport them, instead we pay taxes to put them in jail, get them translators & public defenders, then when they are released they get free health, food stamps, etc & go on committing more crimes. We definitely need stronger immigration laws. I would back my state to do what Arizona is doing! I don't feel they have any respect for our country & our Laws if the come here illegally!!

I would love to pin a medal on Russell Pearce for having the goans to write this bill and help get it pass.I do agree with all the bill and read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and this bill does nothing but help law inforcement. Why do we not as citizens do it ourselves. Everytime we see employers hiring and putting these wetbacks to work, why don't we get on the phone and call anyone who will listen. Then confront the employeer and let him know that we called on him and to watch his back. We as citizens can do alot, and take it out of the Feds hands. Someone was asking that we treat the illegals fairly. If you want to treat the illegals fairly, deport them to Afghanistan, instead of Mexico, and then hand them an American flag and tell them to defend it.
An alternative would be to move the Seattle Office of Homeland Security the Mexican border. They are very good at imposing fees for everything, except the price of air. The Mexicans would become disgusted and stay in Mexico and apply for foreign aid from America.
A third choice would be to hire them for minimum wage and have them clean up their mess in the desert south of Tucson.

I think his basic theory is that America should be open to immigrants and that those of us who have been here just aren't ambitious enough to capitalize on the American dream. Both of these theories are misplaced. Illegals can come here and get government assistance with starting a business, getting an education, feeding their family, getting a FREE HOME from HUD and basically enslaving the rest of us with taxes so high that any TRUE PATRIOT would roll in his grave, while we live in poverty.
